a light move-in brownstone renovation
Why we didn't do a full gut renovation of our brownstone... and what we DID DO instead!
our *temporary* kitchen
The only full kitchen in the house lives in the back of the Garden Level and opens up to the backyard. Renovating the Garden Floor entirely is one of the first things on our full reno list, so we didn’t want to invest too much in this kitchen right now.
toy organization
Having kids usually leads to having lots of toys. But there is no need for them to take over your entire home! A few simple tools to organize your kiddos toys, and keep your home from looking like the tox box exploded.
the upstairs kitchenette
This tiny but mighty kitchenette sits perched up on the 4th floor of our Brooklyn Brownstone. With just enough room for the essentials, and a very handy sink, this space is best for a simple breakfast and afternoon snack time.
our master bedroom
Our Master Bedroom is a quite large space and is still very much a work in progress. Our favorite detail in here is the original wood shutters, which we can’t wait to strip down to wood and make some small repairs to.
first appearances: our parlor entrance
Welcome to our home! Sitting pretty at the top of our stoop is the main entrance to our home. The original bench, stair banister, and other wood details are over 100 years old.
our playroom pt. 2
We had to make some repairs at our 4th floor playroom (hello MiniSplit & goodbye critters), but decided to embrace it and add another layer of beautiful detail to the space.
our playroom pt. 1
A fan favorite room of our house. This playroom sits up at the back of the house, overlooking the backyard. It’s where our 3 yr old spends most of her day reading books, watching Sesame Street, playing with her play kitchen, and just having fun being a kid.
our parlor living room
Easily the most grand room in our home. From the bay window with original stained glass detail that lets light flood in, to the tall ceilings and towering mantle mirror, this room is quintessential Brooklyn Brownstone vibes.
we bought a brownstone
This is the story about 2 kids from Miami, who moved to Brooklyn and bought a 130+ year old brownstone. Let the renovations begin!
